A 12V 1-Channel Relay Module is an electronic device used to control high-power electrical circuits with a low-power microcontroller or similar control circuit. It’s commonly utilized in various applications to switch appliances, lights, motors, and other electrical devices.
1-Channel 12V Relay Module is a 12V 1-channel relay interface board with a screw terminal, it can be controlled directly by a wide range of microcontrollers such as Arduino, AVR, PIC, ARM and so on. The board has a high-quality relay, which can handle a maximum of 10A @ 125V or 10AA @ 250V AC.
Relay has three connections – Common – C, Normally Open-NO, and Normally Closed-NC brought out to 3 pin screw terminals which makes it easy to make and remove connections. The board has a power indication and a relay status LED to ease debugging. Power input and relay control signals are brought to header pins on the board. Hence, the board can be easily interfaced with our development boards using our jumper wires.
A 1-Channel Relay Module can control a single electrical circuit, either opening or closing the connection between the common terminal and the normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC) terminals. The relay coil requires a 12V power supply to operate. This higher voltage allows the relay to handle circuits with higher current requirements.
To activate the relay, a control signal is applied to the relay coil. When the coil is energized, it creates a magnetic field that causes the relay switch contacts to change position. The relay has specific ratings for the maximum voltage and current it can handle on the switched circuit. It’s important to select a relay module with ratings suitable for your application.
A 1-Channel Relay Module typically has both NO and NC contacts. In the rest state, the NO contact is open, and the NC contact is closed. These relay modules include an opto-isolator, which electrically isolates the control circuit from the switched circuit. This provides added protection to the controlling device.
These relay modules include an LED indicator that illuminates when the relay is activated, providing visual feedback. These Relay modules come in various form factors, including standalone modules with mounting holes or integrated relay boards designed for specific applications.
12V 1-Channel Relay Modules are widely used in home automation, industrial automation, automotive applications, robotics, and various electronic projects for tasks like controlling lights, fans, motors, solenoids, and more.
The 12V 1-Channel Relay Module is your key to reliable power control. Whether you’re automating home appliances, building a smart security system, or designing a custom robotics project, this module ensures seamless and dependable switching capabilities.
With its adaptable design, this relay module finds its place in a multitude of projects. From home automation to industrial control, its reliability and flexibility make it an invaluable component for any electronics enthusiast or professional.
Featuring clearly labelled pins and straightforward documentation, the 12V Relay Module is designed for easy integration into your projects. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, you’ll appreciate the simplicity and efficiency it brings to your creations.
